having already owned Damascus VG10 knives, I wanted to test X-7 with its claims of less brittleness. obviously, this review won’t address that since I just received this set. initial impressions: 1) admiring the handle: G10, grey wood pattern with contrasting red trims, mosaic pin inlay, octagonal Japanese-style for that lighter feel. 2) well-balanced. conclusion: time will tell if X-7 is legit or a marketing ploy as some have claimed elsewhere. overall, I’m happy with the YARI series knives; I have some of their other knives which perform very well, but this kiritsuke is my favorite.
